All information contained in the medical records of Dixie Medical Group is considered confidential. Any release of medical information will be closely monitored. All requests for information that is contained in a patient's record shall be directed to a nurse. Requests for information from a medical record will be reviewed and approved by a nurse and processed only by personnel who are knowledgeable with the policy and procedures necessary for appropriate release of medical information. The only exceptions are when release of information is obligatory by law, e.g. in cases of suicidal, homicidal, or child abuse tendencies.

This commitment to confidentiality applies to all settings where Dixie Medical Group creates, receives, uses, processes, maintains or furnishes health information. This includes clinical, research and administrative settings.
